The UP's only 36-hole facility, Marquette Golf Club boasts two extremely fun and beautiful courses.
The Greywalls course opened to rave reviews in 2005. Designed by Mike DeVries, the entire course is a natural wonder and a testament to the rugged beauty of the Marquette area. The course takes players through a wild ride and over a diverse but flowing variety of terrains: tumbling fairways, boldly contoured slopes, dramatic elevation changes, rolling and bunkered linksland, and breath-taking panoramic views of Lake Superior. It's a truly unique golf experience and has caught the attention of all the golfing world. GolfWeek named it the #2 course you can play in Michigan, and upon its opening it was included in the Top Ten Best New Course listings of all the major golf publications. If you're looking for a truly inspiring and unforgettable golf experience, Greywalls must be on your list.
Greywalls is complemented well by the classical Heritage course. Opening in 1926, the Heritage was originally designed by renowned Midwest architects William Langford & Theodore Moreau. The front nine sprawls out over gently rolling terrain, and is notable for its imaginative green complexes and classic beauty. The back nine takes the player into more dramatic slopes offering views of Lake Superior and a challenging finish to a thoroughly enjoyable round of golf.
The club also features a great restaurant, "The Turn," famous for its Friday fish-fries and family-friendly dining. It's simultaneously the perfect place to enjoy a beverage after a round of golf and to take the family out for a casual dinner. The friendly and professional staff, beautiful setting, and wide variety of great food make it an ideal choice for banquets and receptions as well. Call Terri Olson, the clubhouse manager, for more information.
The club also features a fully-stocked pro shop, offering all major brands of golf equipment, accessories, and Greywalls logo apparel. The professional staff, lead by head professional Marc Gilmore, also offers full instructional services for the whole family from private lessons to group clinics. All of it takes place on the area's best practice range.
